Stephen Gaynor School is an independent Pre-K, Lower, and Middle School located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The 91,400 square foot expansion project included classrooms, offices, a learning kitchen, a 300-seat theater, a rooftop field house for recreational activities, and an indoor bridge to connect the original building to the new expansion facilities. PCE was tasked with designing all mechanical, electrical, plumbing sprinkler, and life safety systems. The renovation was awarded LEED CI for use of responsible energy design, adaptive reuse of an existing historical structure, local and regional materials, and low emitting materials.
