Joan Mitchell (1925-1992) was a critically-acclaimed American abstract expressionist painter. Her lifelong dedication to art was immortalized in the formation of the Joan Mitchell Foundation. The Foundation’s mission includes persevering her legacy and supporting the talents of under-recognized artists. The Foundation’s 5,000 square foot office is located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. The office includes administrative facilities, a library, an educational center, and flexible studio space for artists, exhibition, lectures, and events. PCE designed all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for the project.
